Reds pitch a shutout

Short and sweet before I head to the ballgame today.

Pathetic, horrible, sad, and dismal are just some words to describe the Chicago Cubs offense last night. 14 runners were left on base! How do you manage to do that?!?! Let alone to the Cincinnati Reds, Jesus. The Reds shut the Cubs out 3-0.

Chicago left their Starting Pitcher Ted Lilly down last night; he pitched a gem only giving up one run.

It’s obvious that Milton Bradley shouldn’t have been in the starting lineup going 0-4 with three strikeouts. WTF, is this the balance in the lineup that the Cubs organization promised us? Not to mention him gimping around Right Field throughout the night. There were at least two outs he should have made, and didn’t manage to do so. It’s because he can’t freakin run!

LOU BRADLEY IS HURT, PUT IN HOFFPAUIR TODAY.

Oh, I’ll make sure Lou hears me before the game starts, luckily I sit close enough. By the way Neil Cotts will hear me before the game too. Same goes for Bradley.

Oh, Bradley is 1-23 on the season.

God the Cubs suck.

Cotts Watch: Day two

He’s still on the payroll

Cotts Watch: Samardzija called up

Well I was right in my previous entry from today; Tripe A Starting Pitcher Jeff Samardzija is called up. Unfortunately, lefty releiver Neil Cotts isn’t released or demoted, but Luis Vizcaino will get sent down or cut.

I guess Samardzija has been tearing up Triple A, but its rumored that Samardzija will be coming out of the bullpen. I rather have Sean Marshall go to the bullpen, and have Samardzija be a starter.

I was also right about Milton Bradley being back in the lineup tonight.

First loss is always the toughest

I’m not in a very good mood. The losers lost last night in the tenth inning to apparently the godly team of the Houston Astros. Where was the Cubs potent offense I was promised? Sure Soriano hit a homerun last night, but he proved why he shouldn’t be hitting lead off, first three at bats for him last night resulted in strikeouts. You suck Soriano.

I don’t know what the senile old man was thinking last night when he forgot that we have Carlos Marmol in the pen. I don’t understand why Marmol wasn’t thrown out there last night. Screw the “awww, let him rest his arm” b.s. I don’t care if he pitched the day before or not.

By the way how the hell did Neil Cotts make the team? He sucked last year, thanks to his awfulness we lost the game. Well not just him either, but thanks to Derrick Lee too for being too afraid to break up a double play last night. Lee has to grow a set of balls. Oh yeah, you too Rameriz for trying to stretch out a single into a double and getting called out. Yeah, after Rameriz did that the next two batters reached base, could have been bases loaded with just one out. Also too Bradley for not even getting a base hit in the past two games.

Back to Marmol, I’m fuming over this one. How do you not put Marmol in after Cotts gave up the base hits in the tenth inning? Obviously if the Astros get a base hit they’ll win the game. The only person in the pen that could go out there and just shut down a team is freakin Marmol, not Gregg!!!!

Cubs spring training game, player thoughts, and Bako cut

Cubs and Royals finished today’s game in a tie in the tenth inning at eight runs a piece.

I’m by no means a major league scout, but I’ve been watching baseball long enough to determine win a pitcher is on or off, and today my friends, Cubs starter Rich Harden was off..way off. His location was horrible today. I’ll cut the guy a break because obviously its spring training, and because I think he was working on his change up today. At least that’s what it seemed like to me. I wonder if I could look up how many pitches of each pitch a pitcher throws, something to look into.

On the plus side at least two of his homers he gave up came off of Royals third basemen Alex Gordon who’s on my fantasy team, but the negative on this one I guess is I have Harden too.

Fukodome has some issues to work out in center. Reed Johnson called for the ball, Kosuke cuts him off and tries to catch it, and then drops the freakin ball! The next inning he hit a homerun to make up for it, but still, he better think next time. Once again, luckily it was just spring training.

Oh almost forgot Milton Bradley went 4-4 today, he’ll be a HUGE up to the Cubs this year.

By the way it looks like me and Lou are on the same page once again, the Cubs cut backup catcher Paul Bako and named Koyie Hill back up catcher for this season.
